Hartley Odwak
Co-principal / Directing Archaeologist
Hartley (MA, Archaeology, SFU) has 29+ years experience in academic, governmental, and professional archaeology. Honing his skills as an archaeologist for Parks Canada, then with several BC consulting firms, Hartley founded Sources with Robbin Chatan in 1997. Hartley oversees the management of all projects to assess and mitigate potential archaeological impacts posed by proposed developments, and has cultivated the trust of many BC First Nations, industry, government, and private clients over the years.
Robbin Chatan
Co-principal / Directing Archaeologist
Robbin (MA, Archaeology, University of Calgary) lends his 30+ years of experience to our projects on Vancouver Island, BC Coast, and Okanagan regions. He has authored numerous professional consulting permit and non-permit reports for government and private clients, and is our lead for report writing and organization. Robbin has worked with Hartley for the Quatsino First Nation (Quattishe Subdivision IR #18, Coal Harbour) as a band archaeologist and co-ordinated the FRBC-funded Quatsino Traditional Use Study Project (1997-98).
Michelle Drysdale
Bookkeeper
Michelle graduated from St. Francis Xavier University in Nova Scotia with a BBA majoring in Accounting. Originally from Nova Scotia, she moved to Ottawa after graduation and then shortly thereafter to Vancouver. She has over 20 years of experience in a variety of accounting roles—preferring small to medium sized organizations. Michelle is enjoying her return to the workforce after staying at home to raise two children. She currently juggles her part-time role at Sources with the demands of a young family and some independent clients.

Pascale Meehan
Archaeologist
Pascale (BA Anthropology, McGill University; MSc Anthropology, Université de Montréal; PhD Anthropology, University of Colorado-Boulder) recently successfully completed her PhD dissertation on rural responses to political collapse in coastal Oaxaca, Mexico. In addition to her current work in BC, she has directed research projects in Mesoamerica and has participated in excavations in Peru. At Sources, she collaborates on municipal fieldwork, artifact analysis, and reporting. Her interests include long-distance interaction and exchange, communities of practice, entanglements and material & intangible heritage, and community engagement.
Kennedy Richard
Senior Field Director (Coast/Interior)
Kennedy (BA, Anthropology and Archaeology, Saint Mary's University, Halifax) is a senior Field Director at Sources with 26 years of fieldwork and research experience spanning the East Coast to Ontario to BC's central interior and Northwest Coast. A Field Director and permit holder as recognized by the Archaeology Branch of BC since 2003, he specializes in the identification, recording, reporting and protection of many archaeological site types, with special interest in intertidal sites, ethnobotany, and Amabilis Fir CMTs.
Courtney Rix
Archaeologist / Project Manager (Forestry)
Courtney (BA, Arch.; Certificate, Cultural Resource Management, SFU) manages our Forestry portfolio, with much experience in archaeological consulting in the subarctic-boreal, interior, and coastal regions of BC. A skilled fieldworker in both forestry and municipal settings, she also carries out mapping, interim reporting, site registry, and artifact processing in our office and lab. She's an associate member of the BC Association of Professional Archaeologists, interested in artifact and preventative conservation. She most enjoys learning from the communities and areas that Sources work in.
